ABOUT SUZANNE
While looking after my mother in her later years I came across a suitcase of old photographs; faces without names, unknown history bursting at the seams, ancestors from the early years, all bundled together and stored safely in a dark corner of the wardrobe. I was in awe of what I had discovered. My mother was the youngest child from a family of 10, the baby of the family, the last living offspring.
What was to become of many lifetimes of history was now in my hands.
This is what we did:-
- We put names to the unknown faces.
- We made a copy of each image at a secretariat (before scanners).
- We found the addresses of the nieces and nephews and selected one person from each family to be the representative for that family.
- We sent copies of the images and an order form to each representative.
In that way we shared our family history with everyone.
We are family. We are all from the same source. We pay homage to John and Mabel Kilby so that the generations to come will know their roots.
